The EGR Valve is vital to a car’s emissions controls. It helps your car or tuck run more efficiently by recirculating a portion of the exhaust back into the combustion chamber. This results in a cooler, more complete burning of your fuel. It also decreases the leakage of noxious emissions.
EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation. If your EGR Valve needs to be replaced, the cost is minimal. However, if you take your vehicle to a smaller garage they might not have the proper computer systems to find a faulty EGR Valve, resulting in a large bill from the time it took to find the problem.
